Spatial Data Infrastructure This portal will give information about the development and services of the Finnish Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI). The National Land Survey of Finland has a task to promote the use of spatial data in Finland. Strategic goals for the SDI has been set in the National Geographic Information Strategy developed by the National Council for Geographic Information in 2004. The National Council for Geographic Information has been nominated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the present term will be ending in 2007.

The INSPIRE directive, which sets the goals for the European SDI will have a significat impact also at the national level. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has nominated a working group that will study and suggest how the directive will be adopted in national legislation. This portal is managed by the geographic information team at the National Land Survey of Finland.
