As Chief Strategy Officer, Serface will lead our efforts in transitioning the CC3D 3D/geospatial application service platform to address the growing opportunities in building life cycle management and urban engagement. Serface joins Cybercity 3D from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, where he served as the first Entrepreneur in Residence at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
"CyberCity 3D provides the first Web 3D platform that can manage tremendous amounts of building engineering information while providing an engaging interface to help people better relate with their built environment and communities." said Serface.
Serface added, "A large area of opportunity for CyberCity 3D forward will be energy. With almost 40% of the energy consumed in the United States being used in buildings, CyberCity 3D will deliver solutions focused on massively scaling building energy efficiency. CyberCity 3D holds a unique competitive position starting with high resolution engineering representations of buildings - their roofs, building envelopes, and geo-location and orientation. With this information, we can help automate energy analysis and make increasingly accurate predictions and recommendations on how building owners, communities, and cities can reduce their energy use."
"We are excited to have Joel on board with CyberCity 3D," stated Kevin DeVito, CEO. "Many people know Joel as one of the leaders in the cleantech industry, but he was also one of the early analysts and pioneers in the application services world. His combination of experience in both these areas will help CyberCity 3D deliver a powerful platform and a wide range of solutions for cities, utilities, and building owners."
