Siemens Equips Metro in Chinese City of Suzhou with Signaling Technology

The scope of supply for the almost 26-km-long route includes the Trainguard MT communications-based train control system (CBTC) with Airlink, the free-propagation radio (WLAN) system, the Sicas ECC electronic interlocking system and AzS axle counters, cooperating with NRIET in the Vicos OC 501 operations control system. Siemens is acting as a subcontractor for the main contractor NRIET, who is responsible for overall integration of the installation. Siemens has had a long-standing partnership with NRIET in China. Line 1 in Nanjing commenced operations in 2005 after successful collaboration and Siemens is also currently equipping Line 2 in Nanjing with signaling technology in cooperation with NRIET.
