Landmark Carbon Counter Service for CRC

David Mole, Managing Director of Landmark Environment, said: “This service comes at a crucial time as registration for the CRC scheme starts in April 2010 and it is estimated that up to 20,000 UK businesses could be affected, with 5,000 having to be registered for the scheme. It is also widely regarded that awareness of the scheme is low, with a recent survey from SAP revealing that a 1/5 of companies have not even started planning or have no idea what measures they need to take. Considering the increasing scrutiny being placed on the energy performance of large companies, there is an opportunity for those who take early action to benefit from enhanced reputation, as well as cost savings through greater efficiency.”
Businesses will be able to establish whether they qualify for the scheme by recording details of their company structure in a CRC-ready format. The service will allow users to generate everything they need for the CRC mandatory Footprint and Annual Reports ready for submission to the Environment Agency. The service will retain regular snapshots of customers’ data to provide the evidence pack required for CRC audit purposes. “Crucially, Carbon Counter offers a securely managed system so that users can store their information confidentially, as well as retrieve vital records in the event of data loss elsewhere,” adds David.
John Fifer, Commercial Director at Enviros, said: “With only a few months to go until the start of registrations for the CRC scheme, there is a real need for businesses to establish whether they are ‘in’ or ‘out’ of the scheme. Those organisations that do fall under CRC will need to have an accurate and well managed compliance system in place to ensure that they comply with all aspects of the complex regulations. This is exactly what Carbon Counter does for them. “Landmark’s Carbon Counter service will enable complex organisations to assign energy consumptions to each aspect of the organisation. It will help them to measure their compliance as well as understand the associated financial liabilities. By offering a more a straightforward process for managing energy consumption, this service can help organisations save both time and money.”
