1Spatial Announces New Executive Chairman and Chief Executive
- Details
- Created on January 29, 2010
“ Over the last 8 years, we have had great success in repositioning 1Spatial as a provider of data management solutions based on mainstream architectural principles and technologies. Our recent successes under the INSPIRE banner provided an opportunity to rearrange responsibilities so that I can take on the challenge of extending 1Spatial’s role as a key enabler of the INSPIRE vision. Nic's operational experience and skills will take 1Spatial forward and I wish him success in his new role. We have worked together closely since I joined the company and we will continue to do so. ”
As initiatives such as INSPIRE and Digital Britain drive the development of the knowledge economy, Dr Sanderson will be spearheading 1Spatial’s strategy in this area.
Nic Snape also joined the company in 2001 and played a key role in the MBO. Since that time he has taken over responsibility for the Group's Operations, latterly as Chief Operating Officer. Nic has extensive experience working internationally in the geospatial arena having spent a large portion of his career working in North America and Asia Pacific regions, as well as throughout Europe. He stated his vision for taking the company forward to deliver Enterprise Information Architectures underpinned by geospatial data:
“ Thanks to the considerable effort made already by the whole team at 1Spatial, we are in a great position to build for the future. We are working around several key themes - mapping the now, information on demand, data harmonisation and knowledge access. These areas will help deliver business benefit across a large number of industry sectors by making data trusted and available much more readily. Our solutions and services can help organisations address the associated data management challenges. I am very excited about the prospects for everyone working with 1Spatial. ”
