- Details
- Created on February 07, 2008
Council members include AT&T, British Telecom, NTT DoCoMo, Orange, Swisscom, Vodafone and many others. More on the Council, the SPIF, and the SPIFFY Awards is online at http://www.telecomcouncil.com.
“This nomination tells Silicon Valley - and the world - that an impressive set of global service providers believes GeoVector is a company to watch,” explained John Ellenby, GeoVector’s CEO.
GeoVector’s unique GPS-based technology simplifies local searches, allowing users to point their mobile device toward objects of interest to access information, images and advertising. Users can “point and click” with their mobile phone the way a computer user navigates using a mouse.
GeoVector-enabled phones are now widely used throughout Japan via the KDDI network, providing local search service with Mapion (Japan’s leading location content provider) and NEC.
GeoVector is currently working with major carriers in the US and Europe and expects its pointing-based applications to be available in those regions by late 2008.
