Swedish 3D platform Replaces Google Earth After Benchmarking

The new 3D service will be available to all cantons in Switzerland starting now with the canton Appenzell available live at 3dgeoportal.rgdi.ch/ktar.  GEOINFO AG is also becoming a value added reseller in Switzerland for 3DMaps and its applications for geoportals and planning.

-       GEOINFO selected Agency9 3DMaps after thorough benchmarking of different 3D solutions including Google Earth. One of the most important strength with 3DMaps over the other solutions is that it does not require specific plug-in software installation. Furthermore it was selected due to its unparalleled performance in handling large terrain/city models and for its development flexibility, said Adrian Eichrodt at GEOINFO.

Agency9 3DMaps comes with a comprehensive set of functions packaged in an intuitive API. It offers a controllable environment for delivering 3D geoportals quickly. Agency9 3DMaps is unique in offering high performance real-time 3D on the web, without the need to install specific plug-ins. Using Agency9 3DMaps geoportal developers are free to visualise any common map data and meta information in a map view.

-       Agency9 is pleased to establish the partnership with GEOINFO and to deliver 3DMaps as the platform for the 3D geoportal service. GEOINFO will extend our European customer base through the geoportal service. Agency9 look forward to working with GEOINFO for extended distribution and delivery capacity in the region, said Khashayar Farmanbar, CEO at Agency9
