Evigia has developed ruggedized, battery-powered RFID tags, which can be installed in active RFID and wireless sensor networks. The tags incorporate sensing capabilities which provide information on the environmental condition of the assets.
Meanwhile, its readers can gather data from multiple tags located within a specific range, offering complete visibility and control of one's assets, and formation of sensor networks. A key differentiating feature of these readers is their ability to communicate through liquids, metals and concrete. They can also communicate in harsh environmental conditions such as extreme temperature and humidity.
Evigia also develops software suites for mobile and fixed reader platforms. In addition, a fully supported software development kit (SDK) enables integrators and end users to tailor their software capabilities to work within highly customized or proprietary applications.
"The resilient, robust and feature-rich nature of the products makes them ideal for use in demanding active RFID and wireless sensing applications in diverse markets such as aerospace and defense, transportation and logistics, cold chain, and chemicals and hazardous materials," said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Nandini Bhattacharya. "The incorporation of sensing capabilities allows active RFID to deliver enhanced functionalities such as environmental and condition monitoring, which further increases the target market for Evigia's active RFID products."
The company develops its products based on its proprietary third-generation wireless technology platform, the EV3. This platform was developed to incorporate new and improved functionalities in the company's products at a lower cost, enabling it to set itself apart from the competition. In addition to sensing capabilities, the products also feature a longer communication range of more than 150 meters.
Evigia's products comply with the ISO 18000-7 standards, demonstrating high quality and operational efficiency. Although the products deliver superior performance levels and differentiated functionalities, they are cost efficient. This allows the company to cater to both the price-sensitive as well as the quality-conscious end user.
"The company's hardware products have been adopted by the U.S. military for the deployment of logistics solutions across five continents," said Nandini. "This illustrates the advanced nature of the company's products, making them suitable for extremely demanding applications."
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that demonstrates the most insight into the needs and product demands of its customers. "The Product Line Strategy Award validates Evigia's strategy of providing OEMs, integrators and end users the industry's most comprehensive RFID sensing product line. It highlights our ability to deliver integrated hardware and software RFID sensing solutions that offer the best price-performance characteristics available today," said Navid Yazdi, CEO of Evigia. Evigia has optimized its product line by leveraging products with the various price, performance, and feature points required by customers in demanding vertical market segments.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
