Penobscot Bay Media Awarded Contract

BOR currently develops digital information pertaining to reclamation lands, recreation sites, and facilities.  Each of its several regional offices requires the same information to support daily and long-term business processes. Reclamation has tapped PenBay to develop a computer application that provides consolidated desktop access to this available digital information.  Concurrently, BOR’s Pacific Northwest Region Geographic Information Systems (GIS) group is enhancing its information technology infrastructure to better support storage and retrieval of this digital information.

PenBay was chosen for its extensive experience in designing, and making accessible, complex systems that include large spatial datasets and that require the construction of both desktop and web-based applications.  Further, PenBay will use its broad GIS expertise to provide a set of recommendations that will help the Land Resources Program build up, sustain, and ensure the long-term success of its GIS program.

Premier, PenBay’s partner on the contract, was founded in 1993 as a veteran-owned, small business concern.  As a full-service, national provider of GIS services, cadastral data development, and land information processing tools and technologies, Premier has direct experience on Reclamation’s cadastral datasets and on several similar cadastral data projects for federal agencies.
