Funding of $8,563,850 has been awarded from the Go Green Fund for six new projects. An additional $1.3 million is being committed to existing Go Green projects.

New:

• $5 million - Petroleum Technology Research Centre's Aquistore project to demonstrate that storage of CO2 in deep saline aquifers is a safe, workable solution for reducing greenhouse gases;
• $2.1 million - Saskatchewan Research Council to further develop and demonstrate a new thermochemical technology to convert biomass into ethanol;
• $1.142 million - University of Saskatchewan for the project known as THREATS (The Healthy River Ecosystem Assessment Tool System). This project will create a database of information used to track changes in and proactively manage water systems;
• $200,000 - Pavement Scientific International Inc. to develop a recycled pavement technology that incorporates waste asphalt and concrete;
• $100,000 - City of Regina and Evergreen Sports Programming Ltd. to develop a waste reduction program for Mosaic Stadium that can also be used as a model for other organizations/facilities; and
• $21,850 - Watercycles Energy Recovery Inc. to develop an automated manufacturing process for an innovative new product that has the potential to reduce by more than one third the greenhouse gases produced by hot water heating.

Renewed:

• $1 million - Saskatchewan Research Council for the existing Net Metering, Solar Heating Initiative for Today and Municipal Energy Efficiency Programs. These three programs contribute to Saskatchewan's efforts to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions; and
• $300,000 - SaskEnergy to sustain existing rebates and incentives for residents to reduce energy and water consumption in their homes.
  The Go Green Fund supports innovative activities and projects in the areas of climate change adaptation and mitigation, water quality and conservation.

The government has increased support for the Go Green Fund from $7.5 million/year to $17.5 million/year, starting with the 2008/09 budget. This is a commitment of $70 million over four years.
