PPI to Present Topcon GIS Solutions at Washington State Conference
- Details
- Created on April 17, 2009
Ken Shersty, vice president at PPI, said, “This is the perfect solution for users who have a requirement to collect data in a busy, urban environment. Structures that need to be mapped may be blocked by buildings or may even be dangerous or inaccessible due to traffic conditions or other concerns.
“The GMS-2 Pro allows our users to stand in a safe location and map features that cannot be approached by creating offsets using the internal laser of the hand-held device.”
An added benefit of the GMS-2 Pro is the integrated digital camera for the collection and storage of descriptive data which can be accessed at any time in the field and in the GIS database itself. Height and width calculations can be made on the photo on the hand-held unit and saved as attributes for additional information. All data can be stored on board or on the user accessible SD memory card for easy file management.
The PPI group will also display other new technologies that keep their customers efficient in the field, including the latest Autodesk® GIS/Mapping Software, Map 3D 2010, MapGuide® and Topobase®. Free product demos will be given throughout the conference.
