AeroGRID Launch Online Geoshop
- Details
- Created on October 30, 2009
The site can be accessed at: http://aerogrid.datadoors.net/DataDoorsWeb
By the end of 2009 the site will be populated with high resolution orthorectified aerial imagery of most of the developed world’s urban population centres. These include the USA, Great Britain, Benelux, Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, and Italy with many others still to be announced.
The AeroGrid Geoshop is hosted by AeroGRID partner iCubed from Fort Collins, USA, using its DataDoors technology. This makes it easy to go to the exact area of interest using either the built in gazetteer or the map navigation and selection tools. The site is host to a wide variety of data, from satellite to traditional aerial survey so there is often a choice for the area of interest. Once the area has been selected and the source of imagery chosen, users can choose from a number of different file formats, plus the projection and tiling options to suit their own viewing software. This online ordering process is simple and fast making the AeroGRID Geoshop one of the most convenient ways of obtaining professional aerial imagery currently available.
“This new Geoshop brings us a one step closer to our goal of providing professionals with an easy access archive of aerial photography from across the planet both in the format and the projection they really need to do their job,” said Miles Taylor, AeroGRID’s General Manager.

By marshalling partner resources, which include 10 survey aircraft and high-resolution digital cameras AeroGRID is able to extend coverage and engage in a regular update programme that can provide the most complete and up to date aerial imagery on the market.
