Hazus Users Conference Builds on Success

The 2008 HAZUS Users Conference will build on the resounding success of last year’s event to bring together a diverse group of emergency management and GIS professionals from all levels of government, academia and the private sector in order to share information and experience in the use of HAZUS-MH.  The 2008 conference has something for everyone, with scheduled topics that include:

•    HAZUS-MH in 2008 and Beyond

•    Use of HAZUS-MH for Managing Hurricane Disaster Operations

•    HAZUS-MH Comprehensive Data Management System (CDMS) and Web Portals – Technology and Implementation Strategies

•    Innovative Applications of HAZUS-MH

•    Use of HAZUS-MH with Shake Maps to Support Earthquake Risk Assessment and Response

•    Use of HAZUS-MH for Flood Analysis and FEMA’s Risk MAP Strategy

•    International Applications of HAZUS-MH

•    HAZUS-MH User Groups: New Directions

Conference Speakers Share Expertise and Lessons Learned
The value of the HAZUS Users Conference, as noted by many attendees from last year’s event, is the opportunity to meet with HAZUS model developers and the leadership of organizations that play important roles in planning, training and outreach.  In short, the HAZUS Users Conference is the premier annual event for the ever-expanding community of HAZUS-MH users.  For more information, please visit www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/hazus or e-mail us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
