BIMStorm® Community Planning Process takes San Diego by Storm

The internationally acclaimed BIMStorm® planning process combines powerful Building Information Modeling software (BIM) with brainstorming sessions that allows local stakeholders to share their knowledge with architects, planners, politicians, environmental engineers, financiers and other professionals to create surprisingly comprehensive, visually clear plans supported by valid data in very short period of time.

“BIMStorm® San Diego will introduce the tools and processes we can use to address the green business growth, job creation, financial responsibility and environmental management needed to make two of San Diego’s most unique redevelopment areas sustainable and livable”, says San Diego architect and NewSchool of Architecture and Design professor    Philip Bona, AIA, APA, ULI, LAI.

Bona is the project manager of the BIMStorm® San Diego planning process that will include numerous education and training sessions leading up to the live, interactive design and planning activities on June 12 – 14; save the date.  Interested professionals and citizens can register to participate in training sessions at:  http://BIMStorm.com/SAN

A special introduction and overview will be held online on April 10th 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  PDT, through a GoToMeeting webinar. https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/197131868.

BIMStorm® planning sessions are based on software that complies with open standards  that allow critical information to be shared and clearly understood through compelling and valid visual images. The open standards are developed by consensus through the non-profit buildingSMARTalliance to ensure all software programs can share important data. While many different software programs, ranging from Excel to Department of Energy analysis software can be used in a BIMStorm™, the ONUMA Planning System, a web-based model server, is the backbone and revolutionary software that allows collaboration on an all new level in the planning and building industries.
