I’ve been reading a number of open letters to the next president regarding what needs to be done to address climate change and to jump-start a flagging economy. There’s now a book out by William S. Becker, the director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, outlining a 100 Day Action Plan to Save the Planet.
This book has received high praise from a number of influential proponents for a green economy. It serves as a companion piece to the full Presidential climate Action Plan that will be delivered to the President-elect and his transition team.
‘What I hope to convey in this book is that global climate change will not be solved with a single bill in Congress, or with the President’s buly pulpit, or by hoping the marketplace will work its magic with no help from the federal government. The Presidential Climate Action Plan is based on the idea that an adequate response to this most complex of problems will require every tool in the toolbox — in the White House, the Congress, state and local governments, the business sector, on Main Street, and in households across America.”
