[This is a re-post of a recent article that was lost due to hardware failure.] Autodesk unveiled a prototype cityscape visualization product at AU. The project is code-named Metropolis, and was developed in Autodesk Labs by Autodesk’s geospatial and media and entertainment teams.
The simulation was shown on a surround screen at AU with a 3D soundscape of city noises. The visualization of intelligent city models included data from architectural models, utility networks, transportation networks, asset management systems, and more.
The visualization shows that Autodesk is acting on something analysts have long speculated about — the integration of products and multi-disciplinary design expertise in a shared 3D collaboration and visualization environment.
