Biomimicry Challenge Addresses Sustainable City Design

There’s a really interesting case study on the Fast Company website of a biomimicry challenge that is run by The Designers Accord along with the Biomimicry Institute and the Biomimicry Guild. The principal challenge in the “What Would You Ask Nature?” challenge is to design a city with bio-inspired solutions. Teams from across the world took on the challenge and worked alongside a biologist to design sustainable cities.

This feature has some interesting details on different design approaches, and is accompanied by multimedia elements for greater insight into the design and collaboration process. The winning vision was inspired by the way mushrooms proliferate.
