Gates Backs Clean Energy Innovation Initiative

by Matt Ball on April 27, 2010

Bill Gates was the co-author of a column that appeared in the Washington Post on Friday that touts the need for clean energy innovation. The piece picks up on a theme that Thomas Friedman has been touting, and that’s the need for America to invent it future through clean energy innovation that will help our economy, our public health and the environment.

The column frames the need for the public sector to have a greater involvement in innovation and investment toward cleaner energy, and announces the formation of the American Clean Energy Innovation Council. The council includes technology leaders across a wide breadth of corporations with a commitment to returning the country to energy technology leadership.
