Geotoko Launches to Measure Location-Based Marketing Campaigns

by Matt Ball on October 27, 2010

A new site called Geotoko launched  tonight to build and track location-based promotions. The site lets you promote campaigns across Foursquare, Gowalla, Facebook and Twitter location-based apps. The site give real-time analytics to watch user beahavior and gather details about competitors. The Vancouver-based organization has some heavy hitters on their development team, and appears to have a really robust platform. The other key factor is that with their focus on managing campaigns, there’s an immediate business model here. They are offering the first 30 days free, but will certainly have tiered pricing programs in the near future.

I like this kind of service for proving the power of spatial analytics for insight into customer behavior. Certainly such functionality could be harnessed for other sociological interests to spread our understanding of our own behavior.
