Giant Carbon Vacuums Might Work

There’s a story in today’s Los Angeles Times about using large vacuums to suck carbon out of the air. With enough carbon filters around the planet, it’s technically possible to scrub the air to remove greenhouse gases. It’s a high-tech solution that’s worthy of consideration, but would there be enough political will to set these systems up in order to reengineer our planet?
