IBM Creates an App for Creek Monitoring

Creek Watch is a free iPhone application created by IBM Research in conjunction with California State Water Resources for monitoring the health of watersheds. The app enables users to quickly collect details about their local waterway, including the amount of water, the rate of flow, the amount of trash as well as capturing a photo.

The collected data provides a good measure of watershed health and can be used by scientists, agencies and citizen groups to track pollution and plan environmental programs.
