Initial reports from the Spatial@Gov Conference in Australia this week have been reported in CeBIT Australia. In response to Australia’s future infrastructure plan, and discussions of the national broadband network, David Hocking, CEO of the Spatial Industries Business Association states that, “No smart infrastructure is smart unless it’s geo-enabled. Spatial data is the glue for Smart Infrastructure.”
Hocking goes on to explain that spatial analysis adds the intelligence, and aids decision making. Smart infrastructure is growing in importance, and it’s great to hear that the geospatial community is advocating an awareness of the enabling geospatial component.
