There’s an interesting feature in the Australian newspaper The Age that discusses the promising prospects of a bachelor of science degree in cartography and geovisualization at RMIT (rmit.edu.au/geospatial). While the feature discusses coursework and strong prospects, the item that jumped out at me is the fact that travel publisher Lonely Planet has snatched up 25 of the graduates. It’s good to see that there’s still a strong interest in traditional cartography, and that Lonely Planet is making the investment to enhance their guidebooks with quality maps.
