The U.S. Geological Survey and the California Geological Survey released a report today warning of the potential damages of a hypothetical 7.8 magnitude earthquake along the San Andreas fault. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is expected to provide satellite images to China to assist in damage assessments in earthquake-stricken Sichuan province. The People’s Republic of China specifically requested imagery of dams, reservoirs, roads and bridges. Read more in this press release.
